KARAKOL, Kyrgyzstan, 3 March 2014 - Another week, another workshop! Just a couple of days after wrapping up The One Minutes Jr.workshop on "Violence against children" in Bishkek, the video trainers are now in Karakol in the east of Kyrgyzstan for another 5-day seminar. The topic here in Karakol is "Water & sanitation". 20 children (14 girls, 6 boys) from two different schools in Kyrgyzstan's fourth largest city have gathered this morning to become filmmakers. At the beginning of the workshop the UNICEF Kyrgyzstan WASH programme coordinator gives a presentation of the country office's water & sanitation projects. He speaks about the importance of hygiene and shows how this relates to the Convention on the Rights of the Child. The filmmaking introduction today includes the viewing of the videos we produced with the group in Bishkek last week and also one of the most widely used The One Minutes Jr. videos we have ever filmed. It is called "Call of nature" and shows the reality of children in Kyrgyzstan. Read the full blog from Karakol
