Theoneminutesjr.finally reached Pakistan! 15 young people, aged 10-17 and from the province of Punjab, participated in the workshop in Lahore on 3-7 December 2012.
Each participant had to make a video on the theme “Education through peace and tolerance,” a very important topic for UNICEF in Pakistan.
Most of the participants had never worked with video before and were very eager to learn all the aspects of video making. After a good brainstorming session, they came up with very creative and personal ideas. Whether it's a karate boy fighting evil with his fantastic kicks, or a school girl challenging a bully through a punjabi dance, a black and white silent video on teachers using a stick to hit the pupils in the classroom or an anti-bribing story, they all demonstrate the participants’ unique thoughts on the subject.
The young male and female participants were assisted in their video-making by video artists Styrmir Gudmundsson and Nikki Brörmann from Amsterdam.
Both the participants and the local UNICEF offices were happy with the results and will use the rich mix of videos to advocate for education on local and national level.
Once again another great workshop!
