In November 2010, Vientiane, the capital city of the Laos People’s Democratic Republic was busy celebrating the 400th anniversary of its creation. But in Luang Prabang, a UNESCO world heritage city in the northern part of Laos, fifteen young people were otherwise busy taking part in a five-day oneminutesjr. workshop.
During the workshop children have a chance to develop their ideas, storyboard, film and edit their own one-minute long video. The theme “Daily life and Dreams” inspired the participants to explore issues regarding education, road safety, traditional Laos culture and the arts and crafts of Luang Prabang . The films were shown during a special screening attended by government officials, friends and family of participants. However, the crowning moment for all children was to also have their videos projected during the Luang Prabang Film Festival a week later where hundreds of people attended.
