theoneminutesjr NSGK Special Edition
written by Erga Sonnenberg.

It was a magical week!
An energetic group of 12 young people with mental disabilities took part at theoneminutesjr special edition, organized together with the NSGK- the dutch foundation for handicap child. The unique workshop led by Tessa Joosse, Michal Butink, Rogier Roeters and Judith Leysner from the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam. During the 5 days of the workshop that took place at Parc Spelderholt, a beautiful location just outside the city of Apeldoorn, the participants learned all the steps in making a successful oneminute video. Special attention was given to the interpretation of emotions into images. The results were very surprising! As an audience member commented on one of the videos during the first screening: ''the work is very personal and contains a strong message of desire to belong."

The workshop was a big success, both facilitators and participants left with a tremendous feeling of gratification and sense of achievement. Large part of the workshop was the integration of body in mind in the creative process. Video making was combined with sport activities such as dancing, hocky, swimming and golf all in a peacful nature environment, a perfect inspiration for the creative mind. Not only were the videos especially beautiful and sensitive, the lessons about life that emerged in the course of this week were ones not soon to be forgotten..
